Samsung can’t stop the leaks! A week ahead of its next Galaxy Unpacked launch event, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 specs have leaked in detailed detail. And this leak reveals some exciting things about the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s display and the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s battery and performance.
There’s also something very exciting about the durability of both phones.
Specifications Galaxy Z Flip 6, Z Fold 6
Legendary leaker Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) has leaked marketing images of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 via his Substack newsletter. The leaked images reveal that both phones use the Armor Aluminum material for their frames and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection for the cover screen. Samsung was expected to use a titanium frame for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, but that does not seem to be the case.
More importantly, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 have an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance. While not quite as good as the IP68 rating you’ll find on high-end phones with a bar, it’s still a big improvement over the IPX8 rating you’ll typically see on foldable phones.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 uses the same large displays—a 3.4-inch cover screen and a 6.7-inch foldable screen—as its predecessor. The 3.4-inch OLED display retains a resolution of 720 x 748 pixels and runs at 60Hz, while the 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display has a Full HD+ resolution and a variable refresh rate of 120Hz.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with HD+ resolution and a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with QXGA+ resolution. Both displays have a variable refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits. That’s the same as the displays on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor with 12GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of storage. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 could also come in a 1TB storage variant. Both phones run on Android 14-based One UI 6.1. 1 software out of the box. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 features a vapor chamber system for more efficient cooling, which is a first in a Galaxy Z Flip series phone.
Both phones also have Galaxy AI, so you can use features like Circle to Search, Interpreter Mode, and Notes Summarization. However, we can’t find any new Galaxy AI features that were previously rumored. The Chat Assist feature appears to have been improved and optimized for the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s cover screen, making it easier to respond to messages with context-sensitive replies suggested by Galaxy AI.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP selfie camera. It can record 4K 60fps video across all of its cameras.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 50MP primary camera on the rear, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera (3x optical zoom), a 10MP front-facing camera on the cover display, and a 4MP front-facing camera on the inner display. It can record 4K 60fps video across all of its cameras, like the Galaxy Z Flip 6, but it can also record 8K 30fps video and 4K 120fps slow-motion video with its primary camera.
Despite packing a 4,000mAh battery, an upgrade over the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s 3,700mAh battery, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is thinner than its predecessor, measuring 85.1 × 71.9 × 14.9mm and weighing 187g (the same as the Z Flip 5).
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 155.5 x 152.6 x 5.6mm when unfolded and 85.1 x 71.9 x 14.9mm when closed. It weighs 239g, 14g lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Like its predecessor, it has a 4,400mAh battery. The full specifications of both phones are below.
Both phones have a side-mounted fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, dual SIM card slot, GPS, 5G (sub-6GHz), Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. Only the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has Samsung DeX.
The story continues after our video below.
Samsung claims the Galaxy Z Flip 6 can last up to 20 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi (19 hours on LTE), 23 hours of video playback, and 68 hours of wireless audio playback. Those numbers are noticeably better than the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to last up to 18 hours while browsing the web, 23 hours while playing video, and 77 hours while wirelessly playing audio. These figures are only slightly better than those of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Charging speeds were not disclosed in these images.
